2041
As the last unspoiled wilderness on Earth, Antarctica is currently protected by the treaty prohibiting drilling and mining until 2041. Decisions made by today’s youth will impact our entire planet’s ecosystem and the future of life on Earth.
It is our mission to build on this by informing, engaging and inspiring the next generation of leaders to take responsibility, be sustainable, and know that now is the time for action in policy development, sustainable business generation and future technologies.
Climate Change
Scientists believe that human activity has played a significant role in the changing of our earth’s climate. Whether you believe climate change is directly caused by humans or the result of natural cycles, global warming is a reality.
The solutions to combat climate change will take the cooperation of business, industry and government as well as our own willingness as individuals to make sacrifices towards sustainability.
The time has come for all of us to take personal responsibility in reducing our carbon footprint and influencing and engaging those around us to do the same.
Robert’s message of using leadership and inspiration to raise awareness on conservation and climate change has evolved over the past 25 years, demonstrating the long-standing sustainability of his method and approach.
2041 endorses the UN’s Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) for all our sources on current thinking and global consensus.
2041′s Call to Action
Robert Swan champions small, achievable steps so that everyone across the globe, collectively, can combat climate change.
The first step is to use a free online ‘carbon calculator’ to estimate your personal carbon footprint. Try one at NativeEnergy’s website.
Once you have approximated your personal footprint, you can take steps to reduce by making informed choices. Download 2041’s Call to Action ideas here.
NativeEnergy

As part of 2041’s commitment to transparency and leading by example, we are utilizing small, achievable steps to reduce our environmental footprint and create a dialogue around the varying issues informing climate change, carbon footprints, and responsible off-setting.
We offer all of our expedition team members the opportunity to offset the carbon equivalent of their entire expedition through NativeEnergy, a climate solutions pioneer and the top-ranked off-setting provider in North America. Their community and grassroots-based approach focuses on building sustainable communities from the ground up, and they are able to offer 2041 a diverse and international portfolio of projects.
